I felt that this collaboration was unsuccessful because we were unsure of the instruction. Aside from that I feel that this would be a great tool to use with colleagues. This could be used for collaboration of the IEP teams and parents, or administrators. However I don't think I would use this for my students. Considering they are all in the same room anyway, I don't see the need to collaborate online.
I agree that this did get a bit confusing. Hopefully as we move forward in the course things will start to make a bit more sense!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what part of this was confusing. Did you review the assigned readings? Since we've been doing reading reflections and commentary all semester, the task was really similar but instead of doing on your own, you were doing it with others and the reading was broken apart by assigned sections.
ReplyDeleteThis is a collaborative learning strategy called "jigsaw" that is effective for teaching a variety of learners.
Please be sure to notify me in advance if there are confusions or questions related to any assignment so I can troubleshoot and clarify on the front end.
I think your ideas of using it for collaboration with teachers and parents is a good but I'd like you to also consider some other uses for students. This is a great tool that is used already in many classrooms and perhaps doing a bit of searching for other uses, it might show its value.
