Webquest
Personally I thought the WebQuest was just a scavenger hunt with all the information on one site. However, I do feel like it is an interactive and engaging way to get information. Its a clever way to organize the information in a way that gives real life examples to give a more concrete understanding. I would use this as a fun way teach a lesson and have the students work independently. The students with attention issues would be able to stay engaged as the task is interactive. It also could be used as a homework assignment and because its on the computer the completion percent will most likely be higher, assuming all students have internet access.

I too used the description 'scavenger hunt', that was exactly what it felt like! But agree with your final comment, I did not comment about that in my own post, but this is an excellent tool because it could be completed both at school and at home. The only issue is, at home you have no control over if the parents are assisting their children as necessary, as you as their teacher would.
ReplyDeleteSo is a scavenger hunt a bad thing? That is an insightful way to think about webquests and in some ways, I think it might be a motivating factor students. What do you think?
